Located just 19 kilometers from the quaint town of Ella, Bambaragala Pathana is easily accessible. Visitors can take buses from Passara, Monaragala, Ampara, or Pitamaruwa, alighting at the 10th post mile. From there, connecting buses to Namunukula or Bandarawela stop at Club Junction, with Namunukula School nearby for added convenience.

Once there, explorers are treated to panoramic landscapes of verdant meadows and undulating terrain, showcasing Sri Lanka’s unspoiled wilderness. Whether trekking along scenic trails or camping under starlit skies, Bambaragala Pathana offers a rejuvenating escape into tranquility and adventure.

Travel Directions to Bambaragala Pathana

From Badulla:

Take a bus from Badulla to Passara, Monaragala, Ampara, or Pitamaruwa and travel up to the 10th post mile (approximately Rs. 50 fare). From there, take either the Namunukula or Bandarawela bus (around Rs. 30 fare) and get off at Club Junction. Namunukula School is also nearby.

From Bandarawela:

Take a Passara-bound bus and disembark at Club Junction, near Namunukula School.

By Bike or 4×4 Vehicle:

You can reach the camping site directly if traveling by motorbike or a high-clearance (4×4) vehicle.

By Car:

  • Parking is available near houses close to the campsite (a “Car Parking” board will be visible).
  • We were charged Rs. 150 for parking at one of these houses.
  • After parking, you’ll need to walk the last 100 meters to the campsite.

Water Availability:

  • There is no stream or natural spring near the campsite, so bring your own water.
  • You may request water from the house where you park your vehicle.
